Bootstrappers are back

I have in my car the DLR schedule which shows this week that the Bootstrappers will be at New Orleans Square. I will try to check this out further if I get me an ECV. It seems the pirates were on vacation and have returned. I hope they stay longer this time.

Disneyland just had auditions for face characters on the 1st and Disneyauditions.com had posted that they were looking for a male in his early to mid 20's with olive skin tone between 6'0" and 6'2". I was thinking this could have been for a Jack Sparrow.

Disneyland just had auditions for face characters on the 1st and Disneyauditions.com had posted that they were looking for a male in his early to mid 20's with olive skin tone between 6'0" and 6'2". I was thinking this could have been for a Jack Sparrow.

Yeah, the... KIDS definitely would be very happy about that. Especially the ones who are a big kid at heart.

EDIT: A friend of mine pointed out that Aladdin may be another option for this casting call. I'm not sure, between 6'0" and 6'2" seems a bit tall for him.

WOO HOO!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Bootstrappers! They are always a not miss on my trip...

I saw them today. The singer and main character was a Hulk Hogan type of hair, head scarf and mustache. his neck was bright sunburn red. He sang and told stories in song. There was a female pirate who played a fiddle and is holding husband auctions later. An older man played the accordian and one worn type face and older man was on the guitar. Most of it is G rated but he does mention being plastered in the alley. So a three intruments and the lead actor/singer. It was in front the street next to Court of Angels and between the ornament shop and the pin shop. It was funny and they must have been performing 10 to 15 minutes. Very good.

Not sure if that will be the only bootstrappers or if they will rotate characters and skits.

LOL Yeah the boot strappers have this thing where they throw in some adult humor. But I find they are actually pretty good when there are kids around.

I was thinking Aladdin too. But he's not very tall either. And now that you pointed it out, neither is Jack. I'm pretty sure it said 6'0" to 6'2". Hmmm!

The last Jack we met was no more than 5'10" at the most. He was hit off with my daughters, but isn't that what prirates are supposed to do?

I heard a rumor, possibly on these boards, that Disney had decided to get rid of Jack Sparrow for good. The reason was that the actor playing Jack Sparrow was under constant sexual assault by female patrons, and that even if the actor didn't mind so much, the things women would do to him were inappropriate for children to see. Is that not true?

Since Disney stepped out of the future Narnia movies, I doubt they'd bring him in.



Maybe, along with getting brand new Jacks into training, they are making them bigger and less accessible to the supposed bad behavior (that I never saw) from women. Not sure that would work, but maybe they are trying.


Teehee, just thought of one character it could be...the Bowler Hat Guy from Meet the Robinsons is tall with an olive-ish skin tone, yes?

I read that article that was on here and which Alvernon90 referenced and laughed and thought "who would do that?" when it talked about women whispering naughties in Jack's ear. Then we were walking past the HM on our last trip and Jack was out and I stopped dead in my tracks and stared at him. He looked JUST like Johnny Depp. I have seen some Jacks on Photopass who don't look like Johnny, but this one could have played him in the next movie. I was staring so long and so hard he actually looked over and asked me if I was lost or something funny like that. He was gorgeous!

For a pirate it was funny that he was so red as in sunburned. I found a picture that shows the current cast but a different day probably as today the accordianist was different and the female had ragged hems with threads hanging down and pinkish purple whatever colored socks. She is a corker and does have some fine husband sales. Today the Hulk wannabe did not have a jacket on that I can remember. The following image is way too big to post.

That's what I'm thinking now. The ones I saw weren't much taller than me and I'm 5'9'

That's the job of pirates! Especially ones who play a Johnny Depp character.

I've seen this Bootstrapper a couple times. His face always looks so porcelain to me for some reason.

And yes, he reminds me very much of Hulk Hogan. It's the very very blondeness.
