We exchanged some points for 5 days at Tanque Verde ranch. I know some folks (Shontell) have given excellent reports, but I am curious if western boots were a necessity. For a family of 4 this will be a large expense. But if we need them, we'll do it.

Appreciate any help/thoughts on this.
Thanks!

I think you will have a great trip to Tanque Verde ranch! Are boots needed? Probably not. Would it help you get in the spirit of things? Heck Ya!!!

Last time I spent a couple of days in Tucson (for work), I ended up buying two pairs of boots. One pair for casual dress, and one pair of dress boots to wear with a suit. Both are authentic, downhome sh*t kicken' cowboy boots. I love to wear them! The casuals go great with jeans, and the dress boots (lower cut with zipper) always get compliments with a suit. The point is, they will not go to waste after your trip to Arizona.

Have fun on your trip, I would love to visit Tanque Verde ranch!.....

Like the above post, athletic shoes are fine, if you have hiking boots, those will be fine as well. Anything sturdy that is suitable for rough terrain and protection from the elements. If you are interested in making a purchase, check at Wal Mart, they usually have the roper style boots or work boots at a price that is better than what you would find at a western store.
