DD9's class has adopted a family for Christmas. They said all the kids needed coats and boots (plus had other, fun gift suggestions). We offered to buy boots for one of the kids, and the teacher sent home the tag for a 15-year-old boy.
I am completely clueless on what to get. We're in Illinois, where snow season is hit-or-miss. Last year we had 3 inches of snow for about 2 hours, but some years we have a foot on the ground for weeks at a time. Walmart has some plain black snowboots, that would at least keep feet warm and dry, but I'm guessing they're not "cool" among the teens. I really can't remember the last time I saw a teen boy wear anything other than tennis shoes.
Any suggestions? I'd like to keep it under $50, and I'll include a gift receipt. I'm considering just getting a gift card too, since there may be things the family needs more than a pair of boots the kid won't wear.
