Boots Cosmetics

Hope you don't mind me visiting the UK board. I figured this would be the best place to ask this question. Some of the drug stores in my area have remodeled and created a special area for Boots Cosmetics. They are being touted as fabulous British cosmetics. Just wondering how they really are pereived in Britain. Are they any good?

I have been in a Boots and I would say it is along the lines of a CVS or any other pharmacy store we have in the states.

DW buys Boots products all the time for our family and I don't recall her ever having cause for complaint. As Jana says, they are comparable with CVS, Walgreens, Eckerd etc.

Hi Pam, of course we don't mind you visiting!

Boots is just an upmarket drug store chain over here - the cosmetics are good enough but are not considered a premier 'label' like L'Oreal or Maybelline etc, more like just a budget version of those sorts of things. I wouldn't deem them fabulous - just functional at a decent price.

I use Boots cosmetics all the time, their stuff is usually cheaper than the mainstream brands, but just as good!

Thanks for the opinions. They are going so far as to remodel the stores and put in consultation areas. I was wondering whether it was an Estee Lauder, MAC, Bobbi Brown cosmetic. Sounds like it's like the other good drugstore cosmetics. I'll have to at least give them a try.
