Boosters at counter service?

I know there are tons of high chairs at counter service restaurants. But what about booster seats for kids that are too big for a high chair but not big enough for a regular chair?

I do not recall seeing Booster Seats, but they may be something that you have to request or only select locations may have them.

I would send an email to Disneyland Guest Services to see if they know whether counter service locations have booster seats or not.

That inflatable booster is interesting. Not sure how well it would work on the chairs at the restaurants though. I can't recall what the chairs are like at the places we typically eat.

I don't remember seeing boosters when we were at Disneyland. Come to think of it we have had trouble getting boosters at a lot of restaurants lately. One manager (non-Disney) told us it was due to liability. Those plastic boosters they used when I was a kid are now considered unsafe because they don't strap to the chair or anything. I guess a lot of places don't want the liability if a little one falls out of the chair because the booster slid off or tipped over.

FWIW- my kids hated restaurant boosters and never used them. They had boosters at home till about 4, but we never used them when we were out.

ETA- Yes, agree with above. They didn't like them because they were tippy.

The live-chat lady at Disneyland.com said they have boosters at most locations.

I am not actually sure how he'd do in a booster that doesn't strap down or whatever. At home he's in a booster strapped to the chair that also has a belt on it. Our trip is still about a year away. I know he'll be a bit bigger but I think he'll still be a bit small for a regular chair. I'd like to avoid having him on my lap while I eat. That's not fun for anyone involved...haha.

I don't suppose you'd have any photos of them in the regular chairs eating at Disneyland around the 3 year old range or so? Just curious what the height is like with the table.

My three-year old sized like a two year old rejected boosters years ago.

He's been sitting on his knees at restaurants since his 2nd birthday.

Interesting. My son has never sat on his knees to eat (never had the chance, I guess.) He's not really a knee sitter in general though.

So... sorry, this is the best I got. She was a week shy of 3 here. The first one she is on her knees. I'd say she was 37/38 inches tall. My son was just under 4.5 but he's tall. He was probably 43-44 inches here.

Sorry this one is gross! But look how clean her hand is....

It's a portable booster seat that doubles as a diaper bag. I found it a little heavy to carry on the shoulder, but if you have a stroller then that probably wouldn't be an issue.

My DD is a knee sitter at restaurants, she refused booster seats pretty young (<3?). My DS never sat on his knees and used boosters for a lot longer. Every kid is different.

In that second photo is she sitting on her bottom? That actually doesn't look too bad. My son is already 37 inches. So by February I imagine he will be close to the 40 inch mark. Maybe he'll be okay with nothing then.

We just returned from a trip last week and found that very few of the places we ate (counter service and table service) had boosters, most had only high chairs. (I think the only place we got a booster was Storytellers.) That said, we also found that my on-the-large-side 2.75-year-old actually still fit in a high chair, which was surprising!...

Yeah, my son is 2 and a half right now and sat in a high chair at a restaurant this past weekend. He's 37 inches and 31 pounds so on the larger side for his age. But I know by February he'll be too big.

I don't think the live chat lady at disneyland.com was very well informed. She said boosters were at ALL counter service places and high chairs were at SOME. But we never had a problem finding high chairs on our last visit. I think she has it backwards.

What about something like this? It looks easy enough to pop on to any kind of chair and not too big that it would be a pain to carry in a stroller.
