Any good, safe places for us to crash for a few hours? We'll happily spend our shopping concessions at the business we can boondock at... and shoud we let tham know we plan on boondocking before we arrive?
Thanks for the info... we've never boondocked before.

I live in Tallahassee and work all over the state including in Columbia County (Lake City). There isn't too much between here and there but there is a Walmart that allows boondocking in Tallahassee at the Thomasville Road (US 319) exit and it is pretty easy to get in and out of. There are some nice size gas stations at a couple of the exits in between and a rest area or two but wouldn't really suggest them.

I would suggest trying the KOA at Chatahoochee or Lake City. Or OaksnPines at Lake City. These are all $20-$30 per nite and much safer than boondocking. Don't know if you have kids, but I prefer mine to run around the campground when we park and when we are getting ready to leave in the mornings instead of a parking lot. We pull in hook up water and electric, pay the next a.m., unhook, then leave; very simple.

My husband just reminded me that Live Oak also has a Wal-mart that may allow boondocking though we've never seen it done there.
