On the first day of my vacation, June 1, the Imagineering Field Guide to the Magic Kingdom is being released. I'm really hoping to pick this up in the parks. So... :magnify:

1. Where in the parks do they sell such books?
(Only The Writer's Stop, formerly Ellen's Buy the Book, at Disney-MGM Studios comes to mind)

2. Do they usually carry new releases (at least of their own books)?

Thanks! :yo-yo:

I don't know where there are book stores in the parks, but I do know that they have a book section in the Virgin record store in DTD. They have a whole section of just Walt Disney books. Thats where I got my hidden Mickey book.

Is the Writer's Stop in MGM a bookstore?
Yup, it's just between the Streets of America and the Sci Fi Dine In. It's got Disney books, CDs, and movies as well as mainstream best sellers. Oh, plus a little bakery shop. Quite nice! :flower:

Most of the major stores throughout all the parks carry books to a certain degree. I would bet you'll be able to find these at the very least in the Emporium in MK, Mouse Gears at Epcot, the Writer's Stop as you mentioned at MGM, or Island Mercantile at the AK. I bet the World of Disney store in DD would have them, too.

I'm sure they'll definitely be promoting their own book!

Most of the resort stores carry a selection of Disney-related books as well.

I would imagine the bigger stores would have the book, I know I saw Disney books at Mouse Gear and at the Emporium on our last trip.

Thanks so much for the post too, because I LOVE reading about Disney and how they do things and books by and or about Imagineering and I hadn't heard of this one!

There was also a book listed at Amazon called "Walt Disney World Resort Golden Celebration 2005" I wonder if it's the same field guide type of book as the other one? Either way.....I want both! :teeth:

In each of the parks is an art gallery. There you will find a significant number of Disney books. We found the most books in Epcot.
