I am suffering withdrawals at the moment as we don't have a trip booked, so I quite fancy reading a book about Walt Disney and the history of the company. I searched on Amazon and over 19000 titles were available!! I don't want to end up with a lemon so I thought my DIS friends would be able to recommend a couple of good ones - pref paperback.

:thumbsup2
Thanks

So strange as I was looking on Amazon for the exact same thing this morning.......hopefully someone will be along soon. popcorn::

I've got a couple of fab Pixar books but that's probably not what your after.

I have loads of books on this subject!

Bob Thomas has done a good one on Walt and on Roy.

If you want more modern history there are a couple of good ones about how Disney nearly got dismantled just before the Eisner/Wells era and how they started off. It is very interesting reading! Prince of the Magic Kingdom and The Disney Touch. Oh, and storming the magic kingdom!

I suspect I will have a signed copy of one of Bob Thomas's books at the Disney Brits meet in Manchester if you are going there....

I have a great book on the man himself Walt Disney- its called Walt Disney The Biography by Neal Gabler, if any of you would like to borrow it, Im happy to post it to you for a lend:goodvibes

Oh yes please! That would be wonderful!
I will send you a PM with my address! That is very kind of you! :)

I second the Neal Gabler book, a very interesting read.

For WDW I really like the imagineering field guide series, I have all of them. There is one for each park and one for Disneyland and it explains how the rides came about, the stories behind them and how the parks developed.

I also like the Disney Imagineering book by the imagineers, this goes through how WDW was developed. The ideas that were never used etc.
