I am trying to convince DH that we should make a last minute 5 day trip to WDW.:rolleyes1Would arrive July 1st and leave July 5th. I have made reservations at Pop Century. I have plenty of points for this year. Can I still book this late on points. If so that would save for airfare. We live in Oregon so rates are a little high. I was thinking a studio at SSR or OKW. Disney as Pass holders I can get the special for $685 for 5 night stay at SSR studio cash.:cool1:

You can certainly book for points 21 days prior to arrival. You can even book the same day, but of course, it's all subject to availability - no way to know for sure if there is still room for you until you call.

Good luck!

That's over the 4th of July. I checked for a friend weeks ago and there was nothing for the 4th. Of course, all things subject to change as people change their plans, but I wouln't count on it.

That is why I have the cash nights at Pop Century. I can have SSR for studio in cash but too much money for short trip. I find it odd that they have plenty of cash nights available.

Too different sets of inventory. When members used points for non-DVC vacations, those have to pay for the trip. There also may be builder's inventory (unsold points) left to be sold as well.

I called in the afternoon Saturday for a studio for my parents July 3,4, 5. Not one studio or 2 bedroom at any DVC resort. There was one 1-bedroom at SSR. I asked about individual days - nothing.

Moral of story: DVC is not a useful resource for those hoping to book premium WDW accomodations on a last minute basis (especially during holiday periods), and the SSR-driven growth in program membership is only reinforcing that moral.

Update DH and I have reservations for a 1 bedroom at SSR July 1st-4th:cheer2:. Thanks for all who responded to my post. I have a red eye flight arrive in Orlando at 7:15 AM on the 1st. Hopefullly I can get an early check in. :scared1:

Congrats. I'm from Clackamas. Aren't you excited about the direct flight on Alaska coming soon. I'm so happy I no longer will have to take a puddle jumper to Seattle.
Have a great 4th. I'm jelous. My husband is not spontaneous at all.

Congratulations on your reservation! We'll be there at the same time...were at the BWV in a studio. My waitlist just came thru today. I was in a studio 7/1-7/5 OKW and 7/5-7/8 BWV. You may want to call back and see if the studio at OKW is still available. I had given up hope since, I had been on the waitlist since February. I just love that place :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Have fun!!!
