I have a question for y'all.

I've booked with one discount code, but want to switch my ressie and book with another code. (The room I want is not available with the original code). Can you still use your original deposit payment towards the deposit on the new reservation?

TIA!

If you have a package and you're booking a package, then yes, you can book with the same deposit.
If you have a room only and you're booking a room only, then yes, you can book with the same deposit.
Those are considered modifications, and you keep the same reservation number.

If, however, you have a room only and want to book a package, or vice versa, then you must pay another deposit and have your original one refunded.
Those are considered new reservations, with new reservation numbers, so the money cannot be transferred.

Thanks for the info, the CM I got last night wasn't sure if it could be done or not. ;)

So it won't make a difference if I book with a new code? Would it make a difference if I booked the new ressie online with the code, since it's not showing up on the CRO's system, and then call to apply the deposit? :flower3:

No.
You do not need to put a new deposit if you modify a current reservation, which can only be done by a CM on the phone, changing a currently booked reservation with the same reservation number.

If you book a new reservation, either by phone or on-line, it's a new reservation and must have the deposit. It is independent of the old reservation, which then must be cancelled and the deposit refunded.

Also please note that it is technically not permitted to have 2 reservations for the same dates with the same names. Most CMs won't book it, and I'm not sure you can even do it on-line. The system will cancel one.

Thanks! I'll just have to keep calling then until I get a CM who can do it. :goodvibes
