Booking with DVC points & upgrade?

If you book a cat 11 on DVC points, are you allowed to upgrade at the port for extra $$? Would the extra be the same as someone who paid without points?

Yes, I did this on our last cruise. They had a chart that showed the price to upgrade for each possible upgrade. I was never asked how I paid for my cruise. She just looked at my room number.
