booking with DVC points discount

we would like to take our "kids" and grandkids to WDW we don't have nearly enough points to get either a villa or even 3 studios

but I thought I read somewhere that with the DVC you can get discounts at other WDW resorts

which could work but are the discounts always available or only at certain times of the year

any how much of a discount is it

we would probably stay value or mod

There is a 25% discount on DVC resorts, SOMETIMES. It's not always available. No other discounts on any Disney Resorts.
