booking with DU

I am getting very anxious to book the meditrreanian cruise for next yr

Im planning on booking with DU for there great OBC

however Im sure they are swamped on the first day for new bookings and Im hoping that what I want isnt already booked


so my question is are DU usually pretty fast with getting the quotes out and booking them

any other tips or advice for this crusie would be great

this will be our first time on the magic--did the dream and fantasy

Im also looking for advice on rooms on the magic--we like to be port side and sort of aft but not all the way in the back with balcony

on the fantsay our room was 7660 and it had a perfect vewi straight down to the water so we werent directly above the lifeboats

We booked Alaska opening day last year with DU and had no issues at all. It was very smooth and we had no issues getting the room we wanted. I'm not sure about popularity of Alaska vs. Mediterranean but I wouldn't think you should have a problem.

Have you emailed them yet and been assigned to an agent? I'd suggest doing that so you can be on someone's radar ahead of time. You'll have at least 36-48 hours of lead time to let your TA know exactly which sailing you want to hold.

How long does it normally take to get an agent assigned? I emailed the reservations email from work this morning and have not heard anything yet.

I wonder if they're really slammed. I emailed the TA I'm already working with on my current cruise, letting her know my interest in a 2017 itinerary that should be announced soon and got a kinda generic response about they don't have info on itineraries yet. No acknowledgement of my request for a quote/booking when the window does open.

Most agencies have a 24 hour policy. If you don't hear tomorrow, I'd message again.

There's not much they can say until the actual announcement. I'd bet you get an email from them once the actual dates are released.

I've booked with DU and had reservations transferred to them before for several kinds of Disney trips (cruises, WDW, and land/sea packages), and honestly, their service is hit/miss. The first two trips I had through them, I had the same agent, and she was fantastic (this was YEARS ago, so I don't have her information anymore). I never had to wait more than 24 hours for a response of any kind.

A couple of years ago, I was trying to go through DU to see if they had a room I wanted at a particular hotel for a RunDisney event, and by the time I received a response, I had already received quotes from all of the other agencies I shopped with, and booked through another company. I figured it was a fluke occurrence, so I tried to use them a year after that for a similar request and never heard a response.

I've used Dream Come True Vacations ever since then. I usually request Kim Oehrlein - she's incredible!
