Booking with borrowed points question...

I want to borrow 2014 points to book a 2013 stay. My use year is October, but the 11 month window is late September.
Will I have to wait until October to book, or will they let me borrow into 2014 since the actual trip is in 2013?

When you call to reserve does not matter as long as you are within the appropriate booking window. Point usage and the ability to borrow points is based on the UY that the reservation will take place in.

that suggests you are booking dates in late aug 2013. are you aware that an aug 2013 stay would actually be in your 2012 UY? so you would have access to banked 2011 pts + current 2012 pts (current based on the dates of the stay, not when you call) + borrowed 2013 pts if needed...but not 2014 pts which can only be borrowed ahead for stays starting oct 1, 2013.

OK...I'm all mixed up with my years!
I have no points left to bank.
I have 41 points left for my Oct 2012 UY
I have 160 points for my Oct 2013 UY

So...I can call in late September 2012 and book August 2013 using 201 points (41 from what will be current points, and the remaining 160 borrowed from 2013)...
Assuming I can get 2 value studios from August 20 to 29, it should cost a total of 192 points...
Right?
I feel like I need to go back to school!

borrowing from 2013, then. that'll work.

but you are close to being able to borrow from 2014...

just be aware that your banking window closes by may 31, 2013 for your 2012 pts, so your options will be limited for those pts if you need to cancel after that. (your borrowed 2013 pts naturally will be stuck in your 2012 UY regardless.)
