If I want to book a room-only reservation with the AAA discount, is there a way to do it online on the disney website? (I don't see a place to put in a code) At what step to I enter the code? Or, do I have to call. Or, is it better to go through AAA (I'd rather not go through AAA unless I have to) Thanks!

You need to call disney. For a room only reservation you do not need to go through AAA. But you do need to call.

Agree with above poster. This is how we usu. do it. Call disney and request AAA discount on a room only res.
Occasionally they will be out of AAA discounts on certain resorts, but not usually, so I always have a back up resort in mind.
This year I was lucky. I booked with the AAA (since I can do that way in advance), but then changed to the 4/3 when that came out as the rate was better. So if anything out there comes out better up until your trip, they can just modify your res. (Same hotel, dates, etc.,). In fact, I was able to modify my existing res. to the 4/3 when the 4/3's were gone to the general public who had no res. at that resort.

Thanks, folks. I just got off the phone. They were indeed out of AAA discounts for 2BR villas at the resort I had booked (BCV) as well as my 2nd choice (BWV). They did have a BLT AAA discount for a 2BR at the BLT though! It was $720 cheaper than the rack rate at the BCV for the more expensive resort. They wouldn't hold both ressies so I had to choose and I chose BLT. Hopefully IL's will not mind (I posted about this on the resort board). $700 will more than cover our dining (the way we eat). Sop hopefully they will be thrilled.

He was able to offer me GREAT rates for OKW and SSR but IL's like to be really close in. I am glad to try the BLT.

When you book a room only, what do you do about park tickets, etc?
Do you wait to purchase them? I have always gone through AAA and got the complete package (room, tix, dining plan), but lately I feel that I am not getting the best deals with all of the specials coming out.

Unless I see something better, I plan on getting my tickets through undercovertourist.com. I just signed up for a mousesavers newsletter that provides a link to more deeply discounted tickets. It comes on the 15th, so I'll see about the prices then. But according to mousesavers, it's one of the best ways.

How far in advance can you buy AAA room only ressies? I am planning an April 2010 trip, and need a room only deal. Do we have to wait until August when the 2010 rates should come out?

Thanks in advance!

I'm so excited! I just got POFQ from July 1-5 for $513.:banana:

We were booked for Pop July 1, then at the Dolphin for July 2-5. Now we won't have to switch resorts, can use ME both ways, and I will save $257.78.

I can do a lot with that extra money.:dance3:

If you know that you want a room only reservation, you can call disney now and make the reservation. Then in August when the rates are released, you can call and have the AAA discount applied to your existing reservation. They will keep the same reservation number and simply change the rate on the room. This is what I ususlly do, make the reservation as soon as I can, 499 days in advance, and then have the AAA discount applied when it gets released.

Any idea if AAA gives discount for tickets? If it does, it is going to be cheaper than undercover tourist? How about AP? Where can we get it cheap?

There is no discount for ap. undercovertourist is a little less (couple dollars) but, since we have rental car, I get mine through AAA. When I buy at least one 4 day myw ticket I get a diamond parking pass.
