How does this work? Suppose I have a 50 pt contract at SSR and a 25 pt contract at AKL. At the 7 month window, I make a reservation using 75 points at any resort.

Will the reservation be segmented?

What if 3 nights need 52 pts and the next 2 nights take 23? Will this be ok?

As long as both contracts are under the same membership account, there is no problem combining the points to make a reservation at 7 months.

And, it won't be a segmented trip either. They will just use points from both contracts to book the trip.

If it takes less than the 75, for example, then they will use up one and take the rest from the other. If you had a preference, you would want to tell MS which way to take the points.

For example, say you need 60 points but want to save as much of the AKV as possible. You would tell MS to use all the SSR points first and only take what is needed from AKV.

If these are contracts purchased thru resale or with different Use Years, then you would only be able to reserve whole nights from each one, which would then be linked into one reservation by MS so you would not need to switch rooms. In that situation, you could not reserve one night using 15 points from one account and 8 points from the other for the 23 points required. Basically, if each account has it's own membership number, they cannot be combined without transferring points.

If the 25 point account was purchased as an add-on thru Disney, then you will be have no problems making the reservation using points from both resorts (based on availability).

What if you have one membership ID, and two different subcontracts that were purchased under that ID via resale. Can you use a combination of points from these 2 resale sybcontracts at the 7 month mark to reserve a stay?

It's the one membership number that's important. That indicates that you have the same UY. You can combine those points for any single night.

DVC can combine resales under one member number if they are both the same UY month and titled the same...after closing, it would be the same as if you added on directly.

your contracts would just be listed as xxxxx.01 and xxxxx.02 or whatever and would function as one contract at the 7 month mark if they are different resorts.

if you had different UY months (resulting in different member numbers), then you would not be able to combine pts from different contracts for a single night (unless you transferred pts from one contract to another.)

I just want to be very clear about this response if someone could help me. Lets say that I purchased two sep contracts thru resale, same resorts and same UY but purchased at two different times. When DVC is quoted here they mean MS? And titled the same means that the exact name/s is on each contract? thanks!:confused3

Yes, titled the same way does indeed mean the same owners listed on the contracts.

It has to be exactly the same. All listed on one must be listed on the other with no extras and the name must be listed the same.

As for buying a second resale, IF it's titled the same and the same UY DVC will generally add them together under one master. If it doesn't get added together, they generally won't correct it. there is no guarantee they will continue to do this as this would be one way to push people toward retail.
