Booking window opens?

Hey... my booking window opens on the 19th. I'm assuming that's 12:00am on the 19th? I remember when doing WDW fast passes staying up until then to get the ones we wanted. Is that necessary for DCL?

Or will I be ok to wait until the next morning when I actually have sleep and coffee?

I guess it depends on what it is you plan on booking. If you are trying for a Cabana, yes worth staying up for. Most other things will be ok in the morning. But then again, I don't have my heart set on an excursion

Not planning on spending that kind of coin, no. We don't have our heart set on anything in particular, since it's our first cruise we're pretty open to everything.

I'm PST, so it was a painless 9pm opening for me. First time on DCL, so I wasn't sure what to expect! I guess take this as a rough idea of what you might see at midnight for a 7night? Cabanas gone, of course. It seemed like nearly every excursion was still available, although this is a 7-day Bahamas going to CC, Nassau, and Key West, so a lot of people just don't do excursions or do them on their own. We only booked a single Nassau excursion. Tons of Disney Jr breakfasts (which I wasn't interested in anyway), didn't look like any were sold out. Some Princess gatherings and Frozen meet-n-greets were booked, but there were still plenty of openings otherwise. I had no problem getting a Palo brunch reservation either. i had quite a few options for that. I didn't try for Palo dinner, b/c we're pretty set on doing MDRs every night this time, but from what I understand - those are easier to get than brunch b/c of add'l availability. BBB availability on pirate night was booked up for the prime slots in the late afternoon before first seating, but still plenty of slots, really. I got 11:30-12:00 PAT, which I thought was pretty good for a newbie! My booking date was the 16th, so if you want me to go back and see what booked up in the last day - let me know what you're interested in! Happy to help.

Assuming you a first time cruiser? If so you may want to do it if you're really worried about a particular excursion or want an early Port Arrival Time. Platinum and Gold level Castaway Club members are able to check in quite a bit before first timers, so if something is limited availability or very popular, it benefits you to try to book ASAP when your window opens. Otherwise it's probably not a big deal at all to wait until morning. Remember, check-in is 12 a.m. Eastern Time. Hope that helps! Have a great trip.

Yep. first timers. I'll probably end up waiting until morning, cause I do have to work the next day. Or maybe I'll be so excited that I can't sleep and end up doing it anyway. lol

If you have your heart set on Palo brunch, you might want to try for that at midnight, especially on a cruise with only one or two sea days. However, if you don't get a reservation online, you can nearly always get one once you are on board if you go to the place designated for Palo reservations. They are holding back a certain number of spaces for booking once on board.
