Booking while at Disney

We know there is a discount if you book your next disney trip while on your current disney trip. If anyone has done this I have a few questions about it.

We know roughly when we want to take out next trip, not expecting any discounts except for this one to be available but we do not know the exact dates we can go yet. Can you alter the dates closer to the trip and keep the discount? For example, we want to be there in march for both of our birthdays (they are the same week), but we're not sure what day we can arrive or how long we can actually stay yet.

Do you need to put down any more than a deposit when you book?

Is the website smart enough to know your booking from the resort and offer this discount or do we need to call?

Does anyone know what the current discount is? I think it's 30% off everything, is it everything or just the room?

There are different "bounce back" promotions available depending on when you visit. We booked one for Free Dining last Sept for our trip this Aug. There is usually a brochure for it among the papers that are in your room when you arrive, and you have to call from your Disney resort room phone to book it. (If you can't find a brochure in your room with the number to call, search "bounce back" on these boards and someone will have posted it.)

You only have to put down the $200 deposit when you book your bounce back trip, and you can change your dates after booking as long as they fall within the available dates of the promotion and there's availability. If you aren't sure of your exact arrival date yet, I'd book for the earliest possible date you may be able to arrive through the latest possible date you might leave. That way once you firm up your plans, you are only shortening the trip instead of trying to book additional nights that may be unavailable.
