Argh!
My fiance and I are having our wedding reception at a location that is 45 miles from my home church. My pastor has said he will marry us at any location that we pick since I do not want to have my guests drive so far between church and reception. (I couldn't have the reception in the city near my church b/c of high Chicago prices). Very generous of him.
My fiance and I found this cute chapel in the suburb of our reception (and also where my fiance lives) and we call to book it. We have to supply our own pastor we're told. Perfect b/c we have one! The time slot we would like is 3-5pm which were told is on hold for someone else. Then we are told the hold has actually expired for awhile so they will get in touch with the couple who has it on hold and say they need to make a decision ASAP b/c another couple wants the spot if they don't. The chapel calls me back and says the couple has until Monday to give them a yes or no. Then I get a call today that the other couple has booked the chapel.
What's the point of even calling it an expired hold if they're going to hold indefinitely? UGH!
I am so irritated and not happy about having to start over from scratch. It's hard finding a church to "borrow."
