I am currently saving to take our little boy for a two week stay at walt Disney World . he will be six when we go . But I need help , we want to stay in the resort so which hotel do you recommend also which time of year is best (looking for reasonable price and not the hottest time of year . Also wondering is the dining option a good deal ? many thanks Nerys x:yay:

I am by no way the expert on here, but for a little lad of 6 you can't beat POP Century or the new Art of Animation for a great environment for kids.

Cheapest tends to be early Jan/Feb, late Sept/Oct

The dining plan is only available for moderate or deluxe resorts, of which POP is not one, so you need to weigh up the price difference between the 2 to see if its worth the value.

some others will be along with better advice, but it gives you a starting point.

One thing for sure, once you have been you won't want to go anywhere else !:thumbsup2

I would check prices on every site possible AND i would suggest using Disney Direct or Purchase hotel/tickets through Disney and then pay for flight seperate.

The first time we went we stayed at All Stars Movies it would be ideal for your son.

If you book ahead and keep an eye out for Free Dining then i would suggest POR OR POFQ. If you can get Free dining it is the best thing to use and i now wouldnt go without it.

I have been using the boards since 2004 and been to Disney World 4 times, I am not an expert but others have helped me alot and still do today.

As for Heat Dont Go June to August, We went in June and the children hated the heat. We have been end of September and end of November and weather has been warm and comfortable for us and a great time to go.

Thanks all thinking of booking directly with disney . Also taken a fancy to port orleans riverside and was thinking of end of April for 2 weeks .... better start saving 1!!!!!!:)

That's a great time to go! :thumbsup2
,we were there this year last week in April first of may! We loved it parks are quite, the weather was beautiful! We also got very cheep last minute flights! £213 pp return! Bought 2 weeks before take off :thumbsup2 it's does pay to shop around and hold out for flights if you are not going in uk school holidays! We haven't yet stayed on site so cannot help you with that but if we could afford to art of animation would be one for the kids! Xx
Have fun planning, these boards are so friendly and someone will always give you an answer! Xx
