Booking w/Expedia and Loews Platinum

Can I book a garden view on Expedia then call the HRH and let them know that I'm a Loews Platinum card holder and get the guaranteed upgrade to a Deluxe? I had to change the dates of our trip and I can't get the upgrade now. The cheapest room available for my dates April 24-28 is pool view (the stay 4 play free offer) and Loews told me that there has to be a garden view available in order for me to be upgraded. I think that is stupid-I'm already having to pay for a more expensive room, but I can't get upgraded because a cheaper room isn't available. Expedia has garden view rooms available and I can get a rate of $224/night, but I have to pay in full on Expedia and they have a cancellation fee. Any help, please!

No. You do not get the Loews benefits if you book with Expedia or Travelocity or any of those places.

Normally you don't get the Loewsfirst perks, but on checking in i have notice it seems to be at the discretion of the desk clerk. My advice is to make the reservation then call back a week later and add your loewsfirst number.
