Booking vendors before you confirm with Disney?

I want to book a certain vendor now (and they will allow us to book this far out) but I've got a month to go before we confirm with Disney. The reason I don't want to wait is that they are letting us use their current packages/pricing and they will be going up this summer (potentially by a lot - they are up and coming). I told them our date won't be confirmed until July, and it will be one of two dates (a Sunday or Monday).

Have any of you booked vendors before Disney confirmed? Did you have it written into the contract that your date was dependent on Disney? Did your vendor have any issues with your date being "flexible" at first?

My VR is one day before your wedding. I have already booked someone for my hair and makeup. I didn't really go through the flexible date idea. Janet seems to know Disney very well, so if I have to change it, I am sure I can. I am also somewhat flexible on some of my sites to make my date work.

I would see if you can book them with the flexibility built in. One day should not be that big of a deal. When I was looking into booking Randy Chapman, he told me I could put down a deposit and move it, if need be. HTH

I booked two of my vendors before I was officially given my date and my wedding is during peak season. For example, I could not have had a wedding any time before 2:30pm on April 2nd if I wanted the reception at the grand floridian because they already had conventions and stuff booked in their ballrooms the morning and early afternoon of.

You're only a month out and if it's a vendor you want and you know they'll book up fast, then I would certainly sign them...but that's just me. ;)

Thank you ladies! I'm going to let them know that we are ready to sign a contract/pay a deposit...but with the caveat that we might need to move to the Monday (which I assume will not be a problem for most vendors - they are not located in Orlando so probably don't get many Destination weddings on weekdays).
