Although we have stayed before at the RPR (3 times) the prices on the Loews website are coming out really expensive. Last time we went booked via Travelcity Direct.

This time doing separate hotels bookings, flights etc and wondered where the best place might be to get 3 nights at the Hard Rock for next August (before a WDW trip) - we are a rare breed who prefer to do Universal before Disney:rolleyes1

We have afound booking direct with Universal/Lowes is cheapest, if thye reduce rates or bring out a offer you can move your booking to the new rate without charge.

However at times some have found very good price glitches on some travel sites but cannot count on finding them. I don't think there is a charge for cancelling a Lowes booking up till a day or so before arrival, you could book with Lowes to secure a room and then cancel if you find a better deal

Like PP said, you can cancel your booking with Loews 5 days prior to arrival ,without any penalties, and change your rate if a better one comes out.

It's also worth comparing the cost of a Universal Annual Pass to how much discount you get. I've got an annual pass because the discount on 3 nights was greater than the cost of the pass - plus you get up to 20% off merchandise and restaurant bills (i think!).

You can check annual pass rates on the Lowes website - just type in APH under the promotion box when selecting your dates. :thumbsup2

If you are a AA member you also qualify for AAA discount; took out AA membership for this years trip to get AAA discount at shops and restuarants even though already covered with RAC. Bought AA via Quidco and got £21 cashback against membership of £28, net cost £7

Perhaps give www.completeorlando.co.uk a call.
We have booked parts of our DIY August 2011 holiday with then which includes 7 nights at RPR which works out at £147 a night - which is very good compared to other prices I've found.
Via the website it only offers prices for 5+ nights, but give them a call and they may accept just 3 nights.
I've found their service to be excellent.

I didn't know this - so if I am an AA member (which I am) I would be eligible for the AAA discount? How would you get this discount for Universal hotels - is there a code you can use?

you need to phone reservations, and ask if there is any TripleA rates, might be still a bit early for your dates.
Annual Pass gives you 10 to 15% off in most restaurants and merchandise,

You have to ring them and ask for the "Triple A" rate.

damo runs this thread on the Universal site to help with rates available, you will see AAA at the side of some of the rates quoted, you just need an AA card to get the rate.
