Booking two studios and waitlisting one bedroom

If I need to book two studio rooms for the same dates online, are those separate transactions or can I book both rooms at once? Also, can I request adjoining rooms online or would I need to call?

And if I book both stuidos and waitlist a one-bedroom at another resort and it comes through, will it automatically cancel both reservations for the studio rooms? I would want/need it to for the points.

Thanks in advance.

The two studio reservations would be separate reservations which cannot be done at the same time online.

When you set up a wait list online, you can choose to have it replace one reservation but not both. It might be possible to have MS put a note on your wait list to cancel both if your request matches. But that requires chat, email or a phone call.

I agree with what Marionnette has already said - 2 separate reservations, and you'll probably need assistance to replace 2 studios with a 1BR if your waitlist comes through.

Also, you'll need to chat or call MS to get a note in your reservation to request adjoining rooms. They can put that request on your reservations, and they usually do their best to get those rooms close together, but it's not guaranteed.

When booking 2 units, you do it one, then the next. If it's a high demand unit, only put the lead guest on the first unit, and update it later.

I'm not sure I understand this part...do you mean only put my name on the first studio and then list the rest of our party on the second room to speed up the process? I assume my name can't be listed on two rooms for the same dates, right?

When you say adjoining room, you understand they are NOT connecting. Only Poly has connecting studios and that is only a request.

When I had to do this at Riviera I just called in and had member services do it - for one thing, I don't think there is a way to actually tell if two rooms are open online (but they can see on their end), plus they are able to hold the second one for you while they enter all the information for the first so someone doesn't come book it out from under you

Calling MS puts you one hour behind the masses that are booking online. If you're booking a very in-demand room right at 11 months, waiting to call could be problematic.

Do not take the time to add every guest's name when you make the reservation. You can modify the reservation later to add them. You're trying to speed through the process as quickly as possible so that you can go back through the booking process and grab the second studio.

These would be at the poly, and I wasn't sure if those connected...but either way I understand it is only a request. Thanks.

It only a request, but I don't recall anyone posting that they did not get connecting when requested. You do know Poly does not have 1 BR only studios and the bungalows?

You can put your name on as many overlapping/conflicting reservations as you want. I do this all the time, I have quite a few right now. They are separate transactions, like search is only for one room. But they are separate reservations.

I find it easier to do this and then change out the names later. You can swap the names on chat. I always add who I want to be lead as a guest, so they just have to swap, and then I enter everything else myself.

I do. I'm trying to switch an existing reservation at our home resort at the 7 month mark and looking at a couple of options. I've never had trouble switching right at 7 months during a non-peak time but I guess these aren't ordinary times.

If you don't have enough points, you can do like you are "walking" a 7 month and just book the first day or two until you can clear the points. Then modify the last reservation when you know everyone got in, cancel the reservations you don't want, free up the points, add on the days to others.

Because you are "walking" the 7 month date, you have a few minutes to get it all together.
