I need to book two studios at BWV for early next Dec....yeah, I know, really crazy busy time!!! One studio for dh and myself, second one for our friends! So, do I book two separate reservations? Book one, then go back and do a second one? Or is it easier to call MS and book the two at the same time..if that's even possible. Since my dh wants to be overly generous and treat his friends to the room, I want to book two standard views!! So, booking in early Dec and wanting two standards! Yeah, that's not asking for much!
Any thoughts on how best to do this?
And of course, I'm going to be on a plane, at 7:15, on Jan 2...I need to book for Dec 2-9. Terrific.

Two separate reservations booked separately either online or through MS. Online opens an hour earlier than MS.

Hmmmm.... I know it's more points but a 2bd is safer... if you're committed to inviting the friends.

You can also have your spouse try to book a standard at the same time (7:45am January 2nd) using a different computer. The spouse logs in with their own Dvc ID, so you are both trying to get the std studio at the same time....

I think that's pretty much what the poster said above

I think I'm going to end up without standard view. I board my flight at 7:15, arrive in Orlando 3 hrs later.
I wonder if I could walk the reservations...book online on Jan 1, then drop the first day, down the road?

Walking the reservations sounds like an option that would work for you. You certainly would not be the first person to do this when the actual 11-month window opens on an inconvenient day.

I think that's going to be the best idea. Thanks. Sometimes just talking about it makes things clearer.

If you actually want two standard BWV studios for Dec 2-9, 2017 (Saturday to Saturday), you should seriously consider walking the reservations but you should not wait until Jan 1, 2017 to start walking. You could attempt to start the walk by going online at 8 a.m., Dec 26, 2016, and try to reserve two rooms for Sunday Nov 26 to Dec 3, 2017, capturing the first night you actually want. Then on Dec 30, call MS, drop the nights of Nov 26 throough Nov 29, and add the nights of Dec 3 through Dec 6. Then on Jan 3, call MS and drop the nights of Nov 30 and Dec 1, and add the nights of Dec 7 and 8 so your trip will be Dec 2-9.

There is a probability that the standard studios will be open long enough on Dec 26 after 8 a.m. to make both reservations for Nov 26-Dec 3. And then you can "walk" them as described above thereafter. You have overlooked an issue for your Dec 2 start date. MS will likely be closed Jan 2, 2017 because it is an official holiday since Jan 1 is on a Sunday, and thus you likely will not be able call MS on that date and make reservations. However, the online system will be open. In any event, there is a real risk that the standard studios could be filled for Dec 2 either before Jan 2 or very quickly on Jan 2 after the online system opens for reservations at 8 a.m. Your suggested Jan 1 start date for walking could result in your finding that your start date, Dec 2, is already gone. Your better chance will be to start the walk earlier as described above.

Excellent...I hadn't really thought it through. I've never had to do it that way before. But I"m really trying to get the most value for my points!!! Sure hope MS doesn't get aggravated with talking to me so often!!!!

12/2/2017 is a Saturday and 12/1 is a Friday. Weekend nights still booka bit more slowly than weeknights.

Looks like I'm in the minority, but IMO it should be enough to start the walking on January 1, 2017. 7 am Eastern will come very early for anyone who celebrated NYE the night before. :teeth: (I'd definitely book online as soon as the window opens). I think beginning the walk for a reservation starting Friday, 12/1/17 will be an "easier online book" than trying to get a walk started for a reservation beginning on Sunday, 11/26. YMMV.

I know it's more points, but the easiest standard view "guarantee" is for a 1 bedroom. I haven't had any trouble getting that for the first week, even if I don't book right at 7 am. Good luck!

I would go with a one bedroom if it were just about anyone other than this couple. We are really going to need time away from each other!!! I know, I know...so why go on a trip with them. Seemed like a good idea at the time. If I have to use 56 more points to take preferred/boardwalk views, so be it. Don't really want to, but what's 56 points.
