My 11 month booking window is coming up soon and we will be booking two studios at the Poly for me, DW, DD13 and DD11. My question is can i put all 4 of us on both rooms or will it have to be me and one kid on the first room and my wife and the second kid on the other room booking?

One adult will need to be on each reservation. No one is going to do bed checks & I assume you will request connecting rooms.

You could put all four of you on each reservation (to get two magic bands each & everyone have access to both rooms' outside entrance), but that could create administrative issues so I wouldn't recommend that.

Do you plan to get a dining plan? If so, consider getting it for just one room / 2 people and sharing the credits. You might save money that way and not have to worry about too much food.

Thanks Carol

I kind of thought that having all of us on both reservations would crash the Matrix. Really looking forward to having some privacy and all the extra room. If I could only convince my wife that there are other places to stay than the Poly but not a huge problem in the big picture.

I had considered your dining plan suggestion but with the big price increase for 2018 I don't think that it would save us any money versus OOP. Most of the restaurants we like are 2 dining credits each so we would burn through the table service credits quickly. Still considering it for sure but my wife and kids don't seem to understand how important it is to decide what they are going to order at a restaurant 11 months in the future.:confused3

Follow up question: How does it work with booking fastpasses and dining via MDE? Will my wife need her own account since we will have separate room bookings?

If you are doing some two table service meals, as well as some other TS, you should consider the deluxe plan for just two of you. Sharing those credits across four of you, and paying for a few lower cost meals OOP, could end up saving you quite a bit. When you can share and use all the credits it is pretty difficult not so save money on the deluxe plan.

I am also completely with your wife on the Poly, I would stay there every time if it were just my choice.

No, if both reservation are on your MDE account you should be able to book FP+ for everyone at the same time.

Thanks for the tip about the Deluxe Dining Plan. I didn't even consider it but it does look like a good option, at worst break even. Our first trip to WDW we stayed non-DVC and had the dining plan. It was nice to have the dining pre-paid (although I think we were on a 'free' dining promotion) instead of the sticker shock that we got when we went on our first DVC trip last November. Our kids are now Disney adults so the dining plan for all four of us is not even close to worthwhile. I guess my wife's Poly obsession is going to pay some dividends.
