Booking two rooms at two resorts to use facilities at both

Ok...might be an off the wall question. We are doing a very last minute trip to WDW next month. Today I managed to snag a studio room at Beach Club Resort...which holds 4 and there are 4 of us. However we'd like more space so I also have a 1BR booked next door at Boardwalk. Is it possible to have the 4 of us on BOTH rooms so we can use the pools at both? Obviously two of us would stay at one resort and two would stay at the other.

It certainly allowed me to put both rooms in my name and add the other guests to both. Just not sure how it would work in reality. It is just a one night NO park trip for us.

You could do this with a Mickey Mouse and M Mouse situation. You can't sync it to two MDEs, but you could get a card for "M Mouse," who is an adult you manage and is staying in your room.

You'd have to go back and call and delete M Mouse later.

I guess you could try to sync it to two MDEs, but this is asking for chaos and getting locked out, given Disney IT.

You could also put your legit guests on, sync to MDE. Then add M Mouse and D Duck in the DVC system, but don't change anything in MDE, who doesn't know who these people are. You'll have to go to the desk to get their cards, but they won't be in your profile, so you won't have to go back and delete them.

Understood. I could certainly add other people in my household with valid MBs who are not going with us and use their MBs (rather than add new people and have to get cards) as an option. I guess my point is that legally each room holds 4 or 5 people, so even if we are splitting our party of 4 between two rooms for privacy, we should still be allowed to use the facilities at both. Right now it's linked on MDE, I only have 3 of us on the current reservations, but all 3 of us are linked to the rooms AND I've done online checkin. I guess it remains to be seen what happens when we show up and try to get into our rooms because, as you said, DISNEY IT .

The issue is that the MBs won't work for two different resorts for the same people....so, if you are checked in to BWV, you can't be officially checked in to BCV.

To use the BCV pool for those two days, you would have to have a MB or a card for each person, that is not tied to you or your MDE account.

They did scan all three of us last month to give us the wristbands, but they certainly didn't ask us to have ID to prove the name on the reservation was the actually name.

What might be helpful is to have a different guest as lead guest for that night, and add other people to the reservation, but don't match them in MDE...this way, those guests are only seen as being on one.

The person who is lead on BCV (but has been at BWV), can be the one that is just checked out of bWV and into BCV that day..the rest can just be given cards since they won't be tied to their MBs.

We have done that when some of our group wanted to stay elsewhere mid trip...the new resort checked them out of where we were, checked them in to the new one, and then when they returned to us, the current resort checked them back in...

Thanks for the explanation and ideas. Sounds like taking the extra magic bands would have been the way to go. As it is, we've decided to just save the points (since this is only a 1-night stay) and keep one room only at Boardwalk. As much as I'd love to return to BC, I'll hold out for a little bit longer stay.

Sorry to hijak your thread, but I have a similar question. My son and his girlfriend have decided to come with us on our first DVC trip. We will be with them all day and will be adding them to our studio reservations. The issue comes in that I would prefer that they not sleep at our studio because I have difficulties sleeping and roam, or sometimes even read, in the middle of the night to try to get back to sleep. If they have a reservation at a different Disney resort, would I be able to add them to my reservations, too, so they can go to deluxe extra hours with us, swim in the pools with us, etc?

I’ve done this in the past with no issues but last month at AKL I apparently broke the system 😒 I had Two studios booked (a value and a club level) and had my teen boys on both so they could access club level but sleep in their own room. I also had myself on their room because I assumed that was necessary. The CM tried everything but couldn’t make their MB work for the elevator or gate access to the club. They ended up having to give them key cards just for the club. She had to take me off their room because my MB wasn’t working for anything 🫣 I would Just be 💯 honest with the front desk about what you are trying to do and I assume They will give you key cards for them.

If you want them to be able to go to extra night hours, that room has to be the one they have linked to MDE that is tied to their tickets,

The problem comes in that a person can not be checked into two rooms at once so for the other room, they have to maybe go on as with their middle names, and not attach it to MDE. Then ask for a key card at the resort.

Thank you so much for your help! I talked to my son and he will make the resort reservation with a different e-mail (he has a few due to work) and not link any tickets to that room. He will ask for key cards and use those for his door keys at the value resort. I will register my son and his girlfriend on my reservations using the e-mail addresses that they have connected to MDE. He will buy his tickets on-line ala carte and link them to the accounts that are registered with my rooms (two different resorts because we could not get a whole week at one resort since we bought our points within the 11 month window).

Does this sound like it will work?
