Booking too early?

So I decided on a hotel... Anahiem Plaze.. I've stayed there before and love that it's walking distance but I tried to look up prices and want to book soon but it says no room are available... it's for Feb. 7, 2012. I'm guessing it's because it's too early and not that they are overbooked. So do you think if I call and book it they will do it for me? And do you usually get a better deal when you book early? It usually books for about 60 bucks a night... would it be rude to try to request that price when I call? (I like to book as soon as I know so I can pay a little here and there and not all at once, meaning tickets, hotel, car, food) Thanks!

Thanks so much your help! I don't travel often so it helps to have someone to ask these kind of questions too.

It won't hurt to call now. Might casually mention that you heard they have a base rate of $59 for two bed rooms.

As long as it's not right around MLK weekend or New Year's weekend it should be fine.

But do expect it to be $10 or $15 more if Friday or Saturday, also that rates go up over time so the base rate might be higher.

I would call the hotel and ask...it can't hurt. They may not have it up because they haven't set a rate for it yet. I work in the hotel business and that happens to us now and then.
