Booking Time Frame

So, I called last week to book a March 2010 Escape wedding and I was informed that DFTW's policies on booking had changed. All locations (not just WP) can be booked no more than 8 months out. They took down my information and preferred location/time/date and said they'd call me in July, which is 8 months out.

Has anyone else heard anything on this?? The DFTW web site still doesn't reflect this change and I've seen nothing about it on the boards.... I want to make sure I didn't get a crazy sales manager when I called! I'd hate to wait 4 months and find out I missed my chance to be married when/where I want.

I was able to contact at 12 mos, but I think they had said it was changing... I am having a wishes wedding though and I think htose can still be booked at 12 mos if the venue allows

Sounds like ploy to get Escape brides to go Wishes. Don't they come out with new Escape pricing/packages end of April?

I think 8 mo. is stupid - personally. They should allow the 12 mo.

Even for the Escape weddings - there is family to notify, vacation times to be submitted to work, hotels to book - etc.. i think the 12 mo. out mark is much better.

My sis is waiting to hear back from a FTWP today (hopefully) and she will be bummed if she is told she has to wait til July!! (We are both compulsive planners!)

I was told they'd e-mail me the new pricing either end of April or early May... so well before I could book my date under these new guidelines.

Well, I called and they took down my basic contact info and said someone from the sales team would be in touch in a day or two. So, the next I got a call from Bree. Bree was the one who told me about the booking/pricing changes. She took down my first choices for date/time/location and said she put me on the calendar in July, 8 months from my desired date, and would call me on that date. BUT...she also told me if more brides called wanting my date/time/location between now and then, we'd be entered into a lottery. I'm all worried, now, because that's 4 months people couldn't be deciding to book my date and getting their names added to the short list. I don't want to lose in a lottery for a weekday in mid-March!

I know the lottery is tough, but most times it is not an issue. What day of the week are you getting married? Usually it is a timing issue not a location issue from what I have read on here... for example you want 12PM at the WP, if you lose your lottery then you may get the 2PM WP ceremony, I think most people get the locations, just not always the times... HTH

We were always told it was 8 months for escape weddings and wishes weddings wanting convention locations.

I've been thinking about this all day...and when I made my original phone call to DFTW the woman I spoke with told me that I could call at 12 months and they would get my basic info and then 8 months out we could confirm everything. She said the more flexible you are the better chance you have of getting a location. DF, my mom, and I are DEAD SET on the WP...No exceptions. We don't care about the time...We have a rough time frame (specific week for travel reasons) but that is it. Whom ever I spoke with said that that was the way to go if all we wanted was the WP. She said it was more difficult for Escape brides that want a specific date.

I'm not sure if that helped or not...just my experience.

If you're flexible about the time and date, you should have no trouble getting the Wedding Pavilion.

The flip side of the change to an 8-month booking window is that you can now have Escape events every day of the week, even on the weekends. The only exception is that - on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday - the WP is only available at 10am or 12pm. But all the other locations are available at all the usual times.

OOOhhhh...I didn't know that they now have weddings on Fri, Sat, Sun...Hmmm...BUT Now here is the deal breaker...Does the price go up for weekend events??? Like I said, we will take anytime, but must have the location.
