I got a great deal on a RO through Orbitz but almost did not do it because i was nervous about booking through a third party. Through reading all the helpful comments on here i gave it a shot and all went well and i got a great deal. I just wanted to thank all of those in multiple threads for their great advice.

I do have one other question though. Today i received an email from Disney destinations about my new reservation. All the info was correct but it had a different confirmation number from the one i linked to MDE that i got off my Orbitz email. It was a 12 digit "Disney" style number. So I called Disney and they checked the alpha numeric number that was on MDE (the one from Orbitz) for my trip and said all looks good with it. I am assuming the two numbers are linked somehow? Just seemed odd. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've booked thru orbitz before for Disney. No problems at all. You can get your Disney reservation number so you can like to your MDE. I didn't have any trouble at all. So long as Disney confirms it, no worries. Only real issue I had was that I had to go through orbitz to make any changes, but same as with a TA. And Orbitz tried to charge me extra for an extra guest. Got that fixed too. Otherwise, all was good.

I got two numbers too, one in an email and one from an Orbitz agent, but both worked.

One other tip for when booking through Orbitz, go into MDE and select the option to customize your magic bands. It will ask you to confirm your address, change the address listed (which I assume is an Orbitz address) to your address. Also, I asked Orbitz chat who to book Magic express through and they said Disney.

Yep, I've booked through them and had no problems, do remember to change the address, it is Ortiz address. If you decide to change the reservation, you will have to cancel through Orbitz and rebook, you will not be able to make any changes on MDE but you can put your room preferences in.

One number is your Orbitz conf # that links to your disney account.

The other is your disney conf number which disney will want if you call them direct.

The numbers link to the exact same reservation. The Orbitz number is just what's used to identify the booking as resale. I love booking through Orbitz. While you cannot add the Disney Dining Plan, the money saved more than makes up for it!

The only problem I've had is getting my email room charge list after my trip-I "think" it may be going to Orbitz.

This last trip I asked them at check-in to double check the email for my trip-in the end they just put a "hard copy" on my door like the old days.:)

That's normal and the number you'll want to use anytime you call Disney is the 12 digit "Disney" number.
I found that folks booking events like BBB or Pirate Cruise wouldn't be able to find our reservation using the Alphanumeric number but they can always find it with the Disney number.

Thanks for the info everyone. I kind of thought the two numbers were linked but it is reassuring to have others confirm it.
