Is there a special package I need to ask for for this? I am getting a $200 room rate for two double beds; $10 more to include breakfast for two (but there are three of us). Just want to make sure I don't get there and they say "Oh, we don't have you down for leaving on DCL Monday."

We have stayed there pre-cruise, and I am not aware of a package. I'd ask the hotel.

No special package needed. Just tell them when you check in you are sailing on DCL and they'll give you the instructions for luggage pick up (which to me is the best advantage of staying at the hyatt). We love the breakfast buffet in the restaurant.

Try Lastminutetravel.com or Hotwire.com to sometimes find the Hyatt for less. also if you are a AAA member there is usually a discount or even a state or federal employee can get a discount.

Otherwise, I estimate $8 to $10 for a cab ride to the cruise terminal with your luggage. You might be able to walk the 1/2 mile as an alternative.

I did find a decent AAA rate. I wonder if they consider teachers state employees? Hmmm. Booked a flight that gets to MCO about 6PM so just going to chill and relax at the hotel.

This is true in Vancouver but doesn't apply to Hyatt MCO in Orlando.

We've booked the Hyatt precruise through LMT and just told the desk at check in for luggage help to the cruise port. Very convenient!

Cab ride from the Hyatt MCO to the port would be considerably more than $8 to $10 bucks!!! Probably over $100.00. Must be talking about a different port.

I'll chime in if you're talking about MCO Hyatt. First, are you sure you get two breakfasts? I wasn't entirely sure based on how it's worded on their website so called and was told it's only one breakfast. He agreed it's strange to just get one. Second, we had decided to just do our own luggage in the morning, but when we checked in the front desk person asked what brought us to Orlando and when we said DCL she gave us a form to fill out to have our suitcases picked up. And last, I kept looking for deals on the rate and finally booked through Southwest for about $10 less (big deal, I know) and SW points. Not recommending it, just saying what I did.

Enjoy!

If you're talking about the inside-MCO Hyatt, and if you're taking Disney transfers to Port Canaveral, just tell them when you check in that you're going on DCL and you booked transfers, and they put you on the list. You don't have to have a special rate or package or anything booked. If you're a guest there and have DCL transfers booked, you're golden. But you have to tell them and make sure you're on that list. They give you a letter when they put you on the list, so it's obvious.

If you're talking about some other Hyatt, you'll have to be specific so we can help you properly.

We booked our cruise, ground transfer, and hotel (Hyatt -MCO) all by calling Disney Cruise Lines. We (2 adults and 1 child) just stayed at the Hyatt on July 23rd. The cost through Disney Cruise Line was $225.00 ( I never called Hyatt itself). And yes, you let them know you have ground transfer when you check in and they put your name on the list to have your luggage picked up in your room (we stayed in our room until our luggage was picked up but you don't have to), along with a form to fill out to hand to the Disney Cruise Line ground transfer people when getting on the bus, this is like another safety check to make sure your luggage makes it to the port. The Hyatt -MCO also offers a day room when you return from your cruise if you have late flights. You have to be off the ship no later than 9:30 am, our flight didn't leave until 6:30. After waiting that long in the airport last year (we did the same cruise ship) it was awful with a then 2 year old. This year we opted to pay for the day room ($111.00 this included the tax), it was so much better!! We were able to use their pool, little one took a nap, used the shower, and readjust everything in our luggage since you have to sit your luggage out on the cruise ship and we still needed our cosmetics to get ready (gotta make sure each suit case weighs less than 50 lbs for heaven sake and no liquids)

No liquids over 100ml each in carryon. But you can certainly have liquids in carryon. And each person gets a 311 baggie stuffed to the brim if needed (it just has to close) with 100ml containers of liquids. If it was just cosmetics, it's unlikely you had that many containers bigger than 100ml...

But yes they do offer that day room. It's something anyone can book, not just cruisers.

I have stayed at the Hyatt at MCO and didn't pay the extra for the breakfast. There is a Starbucks right by the Hyatt and the food court in the airport is a short walk. We have 3 people in our party as well so breakfast for 2 wouldn't cut it. I loved staying there for our last cruise. It made flying in the night stress free so we started the vacation relaxed.

I booked our pre-cruise room months ago for $170 (our cruise is March 2016), using AARP discount. When checking rates today, they went up about $20 and any discount I try to apply is not accepted.

I booked the Hyatt MCO for our upcoming Oct cruise for $151 including taxes and fees, etc. through Last Minute Travel Club. They offer promo codes that allow you to join their club without having to pay for the membership so that part was free. (last year I was able to get it for $119)
