Booking SSR through Disney

I am looking into booking directly through Disney for a June SSR stay. (I need the cancelation flexibility. )

When I look at my dates (June 4 - 11), everything looks booked except the THV. Is this accurate? Or does Disney wait to release rooms? I was looking for a studio or 1 bedroom but a THV is TOO much.

TIA!

Are you an owner? If so, have you called DVC to see about booking the member cash rate and if they have rooms for that? Those reservations can also be cancelled. However, at 60 days out DVC does send rooms over to CRO for cash reservations if they have remained unbooked by members.

Disney and DVC are completely separate. Disney can only sell you a room that they either own, or that a member has traded to them. So, there's no telling when inventory will change.

I thought at 60 days additional rooms are transferred to Disney from DVC inventory?

No, I'm not an owner. I rented some points from a friend for my family and now more family are thinking of coming too. (Disney is so contagious!) Since they aren't sure if they can come, I'm looking at booking through the CRO. I guess I could try booking a cash reservation through my owner friend. Thanks for the idea!

Thanks! I had read that before but I was still surprised to find my time completely booked up already through the CRO. I'll keep trying - especially at 60 days. (Yikes!)

OKW is just down the road if there's any availability there. You could at least get a room booked and then wait to see if anything opens up at SSR.

I was going to look at a map to see what resort was kinda close by. Thanks for the info!

I'm sure Bill knows this but his post is a good springboard to get the info out. Breakage inventory can actually be secured and transferred by DVC as early as 11 months out based on historical availability at or under the 60 day mark. I have no idea if they take advantage of this options but if they do, OKW, SSR & AKV on property and HI & HHI off property are the locations where you'd expect they would.
