This board is wonderful!!

New Cruisers - Need help before booking our 4 day Wonder trip on 10/16/05 with another family. We will both have 2 adults and 2 kids (9 & 4) each. We plan to book Cat 6, mid-ship cabins.

Questions:
We have the Disney Visa card and plan to use it to make all of our payments. I have been reading the archive about the OBC's and there seems to be varying results historically. So...lately, has anyone received their $50 OBC when booking with DU or Allseas? If so, what did you do or what code did you give them? Every little bit helps... How do you know that it has been applied prior to the cruise so that you don't have problem upon arriving and seeing no credit on your ship account?

We picked this week in October since the kids have a fall break around p/t conferences and they will only miss 3 days of school ....and we won't have huge crowds to fight when we spend a few days at WDW after the cruise. Are we crazy for picking October in Hurricane season? Is the weather warm enough for swimming on the ship and at CC? Anyone take a mid-October cruise before?

The best pricing so far seems to be DU & Allseas. Are both able to handle charging our cruise to our Disney card so that we get the 0% interest and/or OBC? I have read that DU will pass along additional discounts/promotions as they become available between now and the cruise, but will Allseas do this as well?

Any cabins/areas to avoid on Deck 6? Any great cabin locations on this deck?

This seems so far away, but I am getting so excited just planning the trip. It will seem a lot more real after we book the trip. It sounds like prices may be going up due to gas/oil increases, so we plan to book within the next week or so. We are waiting for our friend's Disney VISA to arrive.

Thanks for your help - this probably won't be the last questions.

Tamie,

DU told me that Disney Visa credit can not be used with ANY other discounts, including their group discounts. The only way you can get the credit is to pay full price. I checked my DV online and sure enough it does say that you can't combine with any other offers or discounts.

TamieH,

I can't answer your questions but I did want to welcome you to the boards. You will get answers to all of your questions here, and you will make some great friends along the way!!

Don't worry that you are planning "too early". I have found that planning is a big part of the fun!!!

Tamie,

I can't tell you about All Seas, but wanted to let you know that we have booked two cruises with DU and have been very pleased with the prices we got and with their service.

As far as locations on Deck 6, there shouldn't be a problem with noise since the dec above you is all cabins. If motion is a concern, then mid-ship cabins should have less motion than forward or aft cabins.

Have a great cruise and have fun planning!

I have booked with Allseas and they cannot give the 50.00 stateroom credit either. For the same reasons as DU. But we did get a very good rate from them and I feel we got a discount above and beyond the 50. They have been nothing but wonderful to work with also.

Any feedback on taking an October cruise? Weather/temperature/beach water???

DCL $2552.40
DU $2477.40 - only difference is the $75 rebate - shouldn' t there be a larger base price discount?

Allseas $2467

So even though I can't get the Disney Visa OBC of $50 for booking with Allseas or DU, they are cheaper than DCL.

Looks like Allseas is the cheapest. Any suggestions for which insurance to book and when. Our friends have a 3 year old in remission from leukemia, so the ability to cancel is important.

Thanks for your help! I love reading this board...
