So, it's been awhile since I planned a trip for extended family, but we'll need two rooms for our upcoming trip with my sister and her kids. Can I pay for both rooms, even though my name won't be on the second room, as long as I book both of them?

TIA.

Yup!

I've done this recently for an upcoming trip. The first 3 rooms were booked as room only (some of us already had tickets). My room and one other were solely under my MDE as no one in that room had their own account (though another name is on the 2nd reservation); I can make payments, do online checkin, etc for this room. 3rd room was for someone who has MDE, so I booked and paid deposit; while I could see the reservation through my MDE, I couldn't do anything with it. I called to pay the balance using conf #.

The 4th room was added as a package a couple montha later. They had an account, so I paid the package balance when I booked (were only 45 days out anyway so it would have been due soon anyway).

Either way, I think you are good - can either do online or call :-)
