Booking room question

I plan on calling tomorrow to book a trip for next September.

Last Disney cruise we went thru a TA and this time I am doing it on my own.

If I call tomorrow, will they let me pick from open cabins? How does it work? Do they read you a list of available cabins in the category you want?

Also, does someone have a link to the page that lists what the different categories are?

Yes, you can request whatever you'd like. When I call I always ask for a specific room. If it is not available I just ask for something in that area. My advice would be to have a general list of cabins you'd like or, at the very least, the deck number and preferred location (Forward/Midship/Aft).
