I'm pretty sure s'one has asked this before, but I couldn't find the post.

We are going to DLP 4th June - 7th, travel is all booked, and so is a cancellable room at the Magic Circus. Am intending to get Dream APs from Ce-Multi.

BUT...As the discount is pretty good on room only onsite, I was wondering about doing that instead.

My question then is, when you get the vouchers from Ce - multi, do they have any kind of AP number on them? Would I be able to book using my Dream Discount even tho I had not yet converted my ticket/ voucher to a real Dream AP?

(And to further mess up my head, I did a dummy booking for a package and whereas a week ago our package had no discount on it and was coming up at £980...it's now coming in at £740, so I don't even know if I should be going down the AP route at all....eeeerrrggghhhh!!!)

Officially you need the number that is on your definitif AP, the one they make out for you at DLP in the AP office...Unofficially there are people who have managed it with a temporary pass ie DLPDreams ;)

As usual I think it's a case of who you speak to on the day :lmao:

theres nothing at all to stop you phoning DLP to ask them what the Dream AP room only rate would be for your dates and choice of hotel though :).

I know families have managed to get good AP room only rates for your week, but I'm going the week after, have a Fantasy AP, and the room only rates with Disney are almost the same as the full room only rates with Expedia (ie very expensive) :confused3.

We have booked room only for that week. We were quoted £574 per room in HNY for three nights to give you an idea of room only prices. I would phone and ask for a price and then take it from there, whether it is worth it or not will probably depend on whether you will be going again to make use of your APs. We already had ours from a previous trip so can't help with giving the pass number.

Yes I phoned them a few days ago for a quote and it was £554 for 3 nights 2 adults 2 children 4-7 June at HNY (big difference to Magic Circus £364!!!)

I might ask for a quote for SL room only just to see what that would be.

The biggy at the moment is whether we could even afford to go again this year to make the most of an AP and need to weigh up many variables, as a straight £740 for a package for SL seems pretty good at the moment, and we're on site.....:confused3

There is a unique number on each individual AP (it is a 4 digit number) that is enough to book your room rate.

As Carries says it does vary on who you speak to (first CM was great and gave me the rates, second (when I went to book) said the rates were no longer available (half an hour after originally ringing, and tried to charge me £400 more than online, so I rang off!) and she said that I wouldn't be able to check in with a temp AP, the third CM who I booked with (and found the rates no problem?) said it didn't matter about it being a temp AP :confused3.

I can't see how it is a problem really as they have your booking information from your call so it's not like someone can find the temp AP outside on the pavement and go and use it! In addition, you have already paid for the temp AP so money has changed hands.

Having said all that, I am ready for the possibility of having to trek to the Park to change them to permanent APs before we can check into the hotel, depending on the CM we get at check in I guess!

I don't think you can bank on AP room rates being favourable all the time as Elaine has said. We got ours because we felt with 2 trips this year, that we would use the discounts (and of course they were a fair bit cheaper on Ce Multi). It is a huge bonus that we got the AP room rate for June though - means the APs have paid for themselves before we have even arrived (we are £170 in credit on the package price of 15% off at the moment). So any discounts just add to the value :thumbsup2.

Whether we get to use our APs for a room rate in Nov/Dec remains to be seen. I guess it depends on the % discount rates available on packages at that time.

You could always also look at buying shares for the Shareholders Club instead of an AP but the room rates aren't that good? It is something we will look at if we decide to go again next year, once our APs expire but I can't see the point of having both at the moment to be honest! (Also DD1 wants to do a sunny/pool holiday so I think we might have a rest from DLRP next year - can't believe I am saying that :scared1:)....

Again officially it's a 12 digit number that they require for a reservation :lmao:

And for them your pass is worthless until you have it made up in the AP office as it has no name on it, no information is connected to it and they can be bought and sold on, or given as gifts etc.

I think an AP is a good idea as you get 12 months worth of use out of it and it can pay for it's self through the discounts on food, drink, souvenirs alone

You can also renew it and you get 18 months for the price of 12 :thumbsup2

They told me the unique 4 digit number was enough to book the room (the two CMs both said the same, the ones who knew how to call up proper prices not the woman who had no idea :lmao:!). I have 3 APs and they all have a unique number on them so I suppose it proves that is a one off.

I agree about anyone using them but as you give your name/address details and party details to book the room rate then the chances of someone having all that information AND finding your AP lying around is very slim? :confused3 Know what you mean about shop/restaurant discounts though as yes, anyone could use them then.

I guess we'll see how lucky we are when we check in :lmao:. You only need one AP for the room rate so I can nip across get mine and nip back if need be. We will be nipping across straight after to get the rest done.

Is there any way to find out the RO rate without phoning? The website will only show me package prices

You could try looking on sites like Expedia as they sell the rooms both with and without tickets but your best bet would be to ring :)

Hey!

I stayed at the Magic Circus Hotel 18th Feb till 22nd Feb and bought dream annual passports whilst there.

I have to say the hotel was lovely, was really worth the price we paid £350.00 for 4 nights in a family room bed and breakfast. My little girl loved the hotel especially the ball pit, and the hotel was spotless. (I can answer any questions you have on this hotel).

I am planning on hopefully returning at the end of May and I am in the same situation as you - Stay again at the Magic Circus Hotel which I would be more than willing to do or try HNY or DH onsite just to see what it is actually like on site. We would not need park tickets though so going to check the prices for room only. If there is not much discount then off site it will be again. I will let you know prices I get quoted once I have rang them up and spoken to them.

xx

I have always stayed on site but never at HNY or DH, as the packages have always been out of my price range. I have a quote for HNY which is more than Magic CIrcus, so I reckon DH will be too pricey for me!

however I am very interested to hear about your stay at the Magic Circus, especially what the rooms were like, breakfast and whether you managed to get to the parks early, did you do EMH? sorry for masses of questions but I've never stayed there and am a bit apprehensive on doing the offsite thing
