We have never had Annual Passes but are considering buying some. I am confused about one concept when it comes to booking our resort with AP discount. I will use an example: if we check into our resort on Monday but don't make it to a park until the next day Tuesday to activate our AP do we get the first night (Monday) at the discounted rate? ...Or would we have to visit a guest service window to activate our AP on our arrive date to get all night at our resort at the discounted rate?

Does that make sense?

You can book them with a voucher. And I have never had a resort ask to see my AP (of 4 visits in 2017).

I have never been asked to show my AP at check in--- but you can see the AP purchase in your MDE even if you havent activated it yet, so you should be fine.

They can see your AP/Voucher in the computer so logging in will allow you access to AP section and now so they no longer ask to see the hard copy at check in. I think you'll be fine unless you never activate during your trip ... then I imagine the rate would revert back to rack rate.

You’ll be fine. If they do even ask, just explain your situation and they’ll (in all likelihood) give you a grace period to activate the AP.

Just making sure you know this - but AP discounts aren’t automatic. You still have to book using an AP discount if one is available for your given dates/resort/room type. That’s probably obvious, just making sure.

And just a warning... APs are addicting! :goodvibes

I’ve been asked once, but it was before MDE. I very cleverly packed it in my carry on that was out in the car. Forgot to take it out. CM told me to just bring it to the desk to show sometime that day when it was convenient.

OP if they need to see an activated AP I’m sure it won’t be a problem to explain you are activating the next day.
