Booking resort for December 2021

Are you only able to book for next December if you are DVC owner/renter? I am trying to get a price comparison on resort prices, but nothing is “available”.

Since BLT is a DVC property the owners at BLT can start booking rooms 11 months out from the beginning of their reservation (e.g. a reservation starting Dec 1 2021 can be booked on Jan 1 2021). DVC owners at other properties can book there 7 months out. I do not know how they allot cash rooms but my guess is it would be after the initial rush of BLT owner bookings in the 11 month window.

BLT is exclusively DVC. I believe Disney reserves the right to use them as cash rooms 30 or 60 days prior if rooms are still available. But resorts such as POLY or AKV Jambo still have non-DVC side closed so availability wouldn’t show up anyway.

No one can book BLT for December 2021 this far out. BLT DVC owners will be able to book starting 11 months prior to their check-in date. Looks like people making cash bookings can book into late Nov. currently. I would start looking for availability around 11 months prior to your check-in date and just keep checking until availability pops up.

Okay thanks everyone! Our checkin date is 11 months from today. I now see the difference between BLT which is all DVC versus AK which has a mix. I wasn’t sure if it had to do with the hotel closures or just DVC properties in general.
