Is the official Disney World website the best place to book a resort and ticket package? This is the page I've begun my search for a quote at.

That is one of the places to get almost the most expensive quote! There are other cheaper places and lots of ways to save money. but that is a good place to find out prices for different levels of resorts and what is available.

Tell us when you are leaving, how many in your party, yours dates of travel, what level, (value, moderate, deluxe) or do you have a resort in mind? Also your budget will give us a good starting point. We can put together a nice package or room only for you!

We want to go March 16-18, 2005. These dates unfortunately are not flexible. We want to stay on the property and find a hotel with a waterslide at the pool (kids request). We have a 7 year old daughter, 5 year old son and 20 month old son. We would like to spend (room and park admission) under $850. We want to hit the Magic Kingdom and either MGM or Animal Kingdom. We are Rookies at this. Please help. Thanks.

First, you must reserve your rooms and places to eat NOW!

Okay, slides.......probably the cheapest resorts with slides are Carib. Beach, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans Riverside, and Port Orleans French Quarter. (I am not using our usual abbreviations b/c you are new and don't have time to figure them out! )

Let me see the rates.....I think that you are in peak season, so a room w/o a discount code is $169.00 w/o tax. Tax is about 11%, so about $187.59.

187.59 X 2 nights (16th and 17th)= $375.18 approx. for rooms

Now, tickets.....the cheapest will be the base ticket w/o park hopping, expiration, or water parks added in.

I will figure for a 2 day ticket??? The 20 month old does not pay.

2 adult 2 day base tickets-126.74 X 2=253.48 (with tax)
2 child 2 day base tickets-102.24 X 2=204.48 (with tax)

This will give you a day at Magic Kingdom and a day at another park.

$198.10 is the total price for tickets IF you go to 3 days of tickets.

So, 2 nights and 2-day tickets = $833.14

My goodness, you are traveling in less than 2 weeks!!

Unfortunately, there arn't many discounts to be had at this late a date. There may be AAA discount of 15% off your room rate.
