We are currently booked at BC for 10 nights in July...but...I am considering making the 10 nights some sort of split stay. We have paid almost the whole balance of the BC total, so if we cut down the days and then book Poly for the rest, the BC balance may be overpaid...can they just take funds from the amount I've paid for BC and apply it to the Poly booking, instead of doing a whole new deposit??? :confused3. Hope that makes sense.

No. It will turn into 2 reservations; each requiring a deposit. The overage on your BC ressie will be refunded. They won't apply it to your new ressie. Sounds like a fun split!

I will preface this by saying that I've been to WDW several times but always stayed at CBR. However, they will not overcharge you for the BC stay. In essence, you will be needing/making a 2nd reservation for your stay at the Poly. I am sure that they will credit any money that may have been overpaid. You should not have a problem. I've had to change reservations in the past and as long as I was within that 'window' they give you, you shouldn't have a problem. Since your trip isn't until July, you should be ok. I am sure that someone with more knowledge will post a reply. Hope this helps though...

This is what I am looking forward to as my family and I have discussed "venturing" out to a new resort but still staying at least a few days at CBR [we just LOVE it there!!]. I am thinking of maybe AKL for a few days and then CBR.

Best of luck!

No, I know they won't just keep my overage, but I was hoping they could just apply money from the BC ressie to the new Poly one instead of having to wait for a credit...but I guess I would have to just put up another $200... This is why I don't do split stays...too complicated!!

If you are booking a package for each resort, you will pay the $200 deposit for the 2nd reservation; otherwise, if it's room only, your deposit will be equal to 1 night's room rate + tax. Keep in mind that a package requires the minimum purchase of a 1 day base ticket for everyone in the room.

DH is military, so luckily no ticket requirement....makes things a little easier...still not sold on the split stay though...

Have fun! We did a POR/BC split stay last Aug. 12 day total. It was great.

My next trip is also a BCV/Poly split stay!

Unfortunately they will not apply any overage paid towards the 2nd ressie since it's a completely different one. It would seem simple enough to do, but they won't. You'll have to put your deposit down at time of booking for the 2nd stay, and then wait for the refund from the overage on the 1st.

You've been awfully quiet recently Mousemommy! I figured you were due for a resort change soon. :lmao:

BCV/Poly sounds fun!

Yes they can. I did this last May. Trust me I have done it all when it comes to changes. If the cm says they can't ask for someone that knows how. Otherwise just wait for you money to be refunded and then pay balance on new reservation. I have done that to. When I decided to do a split stay last year they took the balance from my poly reservaiton and put it to my BC reservation. Then 2 weeks later I changed my mind again and cancelled my reservation at BC. Of course the financial dept of Disney loved this because they had to figure out where the money for the BC came from.:laughing:I am sure Disney flipping hates me at this point, and I have lots of mean notes in my file. To answer your question yes it can be done. Ask for guest services if you have to. As a RC'r I aways think paying off my package will prevent me from making changes it never does. Disney has even been kind enough to wave the 50 dollar fee after the 45 day mark. I think they feel sorry for me and my issues. Good luck.

Oh just another thing Mousemommy1 if you make a new reservation over the phone you have 7 days to put down a deposit on the new one, by that time refund will have come through, but I did have 2400 dollars transferred from one res to another.:)

LOL!!!! No changes, still very much staying at Beach Club, but I was considering a couple of nights at the Poly, just to give it a try. However, DH is NOT a fan of the split stay idea, so I'm not going to push the issue. :cutie:
