Booking question - banked points

Good Morning!

If I have points left in my 2025 Use Year and I book a stay in my 2026 use year with those points, I am assuming I have to bank those points no matter if I book my stay before the start of my 2026 use year, is that correct? Do I need to bank them before I make my reservation or as long as they are banked before the cut off am I ok?

Yes. The points have to be in the proper UY to pay for the stay.

Points are not used at booking, they are used to pay.

If you want them to be used, when you make it, you have to bank first.

If you don’t, and bank later, they won’t automatically be put into the reservation for you. You have to reallocate them into the stay at least 31 days in advance to free up the 2026 UY points without holding.

You can do the actual banking at the time you are making the reservation vs doing it before you start the reservation. It's one area the system is relatively helpful. Scroll down on the booking page where you select the contract to use and you'll see the button to select to bank.

Thanks all very much, i had to dedicate my brain today for a half an hour to plan out what contract and use year to use for what trip over 2025 and 2026, I think I need a drink now lol.
