Booking problem!!! Advice? AoA at Thanksgiving

We already have a package for our vacation from Nov 23 thru Dec 2 in AoA Little Mermaid room. We are booked under a Free Dining PIN that begins on Nov 23.

We got a better deal on airfare departing on Nov 22 (Thanksgiving Day) and the kids are out of school so no problem there. We thought we would get a room only reservation for Nov 22 and add that to our existing package. I am really hoping for a Little Mermaid room so I don't have to move or move very far.

So for some reason there is no availablity of a room only reservation on Nov 22 in a Little Mermaid room. But when I check the website I can book a package in a Little Mermaid room from Nov 22 through Dec 2. Does this make any sense to anyone??? I called and spoke to a CM and they told me that there may be rooms set aside for a packages but not room only. The CM said he could do a package for the entire stay, but would loose Free Dining, so thats not an option.

You would think they would be able to make this work some how, since there are empty rooms even if I paid rack rates. They said to keep trying, or I could book at POP for one night. What would you do??? Any experience with this?

Should I just ask for a supervisor on the phone, maybe they will have more ability to book this.

I don't think the supervisor will be able to do anything for you. If I were you, I would book POP for November 22 just to make sure you have something and then keep checking for LM to open up.

Sounds like Disney is betting on filling up those LM rooms with packages during an exceptionally busy time of year. If they don't fill up, they will release them for room-only bookings - that's my guess.

I just checked again my entire time is also available as a room only from Nov 22 thru Dec 2. Now this really doesn't make sense

I would call back again - some of the CMs are more knowledgeable than others. If you get the same answer, I would do as the PP suggested - book a room only at POP (or any resort really) to ensure you have something and then keep trying.

I would check again. When I called to make reservations for Dec w/ the same PIN, the CM told me there was no openings at LM. I pointed out to him that I just "pretended" to make the ressies myself on the computer and it was telling me there WAS room. He eventually realized he was doing something wrong. I don't think he knew what he was doing, honestly. he ended up have to put our 2 rooms on 2 separate ressies b/c he couldn't get them together. I've done them before under my name under the same ressie # with no problems. You may have to call and do a room only ressie under your husband's name for the 22nd only. I was trying to add the 9th to our stay, but he obviously didn't know how to do that either. I gave up. I'm probably just going to get a room in Orlando. it's cheaper and just one night anyway. BUT we're driving, so it's not that big of a deal.

I would book POP and keep checking. If you end up at POP just pack everything for that night in a single suitcase so you don't have to unpack and repack everything. In the morning take your suitcases to bell services and they will transfer them to AoA for you.
