We are on the May 26th Western Caribbean and right now the Rum Point Beach Adventure looks to be sold out online. Do they hold back some spots for booking on board or are we out of luck?

You can check for cancellations when you are onboard (and online before up to 3 days before the embarkation date), but I do not think they hold back excursion slots.

Gah! That stinks. That was the excursion I was hoping for because I don't think White House Beach quite compares. I'll keep checking I guess!

Do keep checking. Some people will cancel shortly before they have to commit (three days prior to sailing), which is also the deadline to sign up online.

Also, if you are trying to get a bunch of tickets for that excursion, don't put in the full number you want. Put in a lower number, maybe even just one. If you ask for 6 and their are 5 left, the system will just say "unavailable," so doing it that way, 6 would have to open up at the same time for you to succeed. Take the 1. Then ask for 1 more, etc, until they are truly out, then hopefully, more will come available in a few days, and if towards then end, you can't get all the tickets you want, and don't want only part of your group to go, you can always give up your tickets and make someone else's day.

Good luck!

They do not hold anything back for onboard booking but as others have suggested, check the site frequently. I've done that several times only to find out that spots have opened up due to cancellations or new excursions have been added - once it happened about a week prior to sailing. That then opens up my cancelled spot for others. Also, do check when you're on board. It's less likely as you don't get a refund if you cancel less than 3 days prior to sailing unless they can resell a spot but it does happen. Friends of our have managed at least twice to get a tour they really wanted once on the cruise.

That's great advice! Luckily it's just two of us, but I will still try this method if I'm having problems. I'm really hoping something opens up!

I'll continue checking everyday! If nothing opens up I'll problem still go to the desk on board and ask.

Does it show as sold out or does it not appear at all? I ask only because many on our recent sailing were hoping to do it and it wasn’t offered.

It shows as sold out. I wondering why it wasn't offered!
I never found out why it wasn’t offered. We considered it initially, but decided against it, so I didn’t look into it further. Many in our FB group were very disappointed, though. Good news that it shows up. Keep checking!!

If you are looking for an amazing trip that will take you to both Rum Point and to Starfish beach and stingray city, we LOVED the Outrage tour. Its a private custom trip so you can decide where you want to go and for how long. My kids loved the starfish and you can't beat mudslides at Rum Point!!!
