We are going to be booking our first trip to Disney as a member. (Home = VWL):D
Any advise on what to do when booking your reservations. We are going to get a 2BR villa for 5 Adults and a 1 year old for 12/1/2002 to 12/8/2002.
My father is disabled and uses a walker or wheel chair to move around. Do I need to make special requests based on him being disabled???

When you book, do you go through Member Services for airfare/rental cars or do you get it on your own???

Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to call ASAP to get that reservation!! You are going during one of the busiest booking periods... You need to call Member Services to make your reservation...

I use a wheelchair & the only time I have special arrangements is at OKW, obviously I can't afford to be put in a second or third floor unit LOL... Does your Dad need accomodations in regards to a shower? If you get a special handicapped unit, it will have a roll in shower (you can transfer from the wheelchair to the shower seat) This is the big issue, can he manage in a regular tub or shower? If so, you shouldn't need to request a handicapped unit... if you have any specific questions, just ask!

If you want a room designed for the disabled (special kitchen and bathrooms), you need to make that request when you call to reserve. If not, you should still make a special request (like ground floor or close to the elevator) and inform them of the situation. Also, don't forget to request non-smoking. You can go through MS for rental car and air but you should hear what they offer and then compare it to rates you can find on various internet services (orbitz.com, travelocity.com, many others) before actually using MS.
