Not sure if this is the correct board for this. Still in the thinking & planning stage of buying into AKV (hopefully). Trying hard to convince DH :rolleyes1. On the tour DH thought the sales rep said you can book shorter stays at your home resort but not at others. Is that true? If I buy at AKV but then want to stay at WVL for 3 nights or even less is that not doable? DH said he thought the rep said 3, 4, or 7 nights only for non-home resort. Can anyone clarify? Thanks. :flower3:

I don't believe there is a limit on how few days you can book at a DVC resort--

I think if you trade out of the DVC resorts there can be a minimum night limit (but also think that may have recently changed too). But for VWL you could stay for one night if you wanted to.

Correct. You can book for as many or as few nights as you have points for at your home or non home resort.

The only difference is that you can't book at your non home resort until you get inside 7 months from your check out date.

At the DVC resorts you can stay just one night if you want to so he must have heard something else. I am not sure about the exchnages through interval. But the only thing about your home resort is that you have the 11 month booking window instead of the 7 month at the other DVC resorts.

Thank you. That's what I thought too. I just love it when I'm right ;)! On with the convincing! :thumbsup2

I think your DH is remembering the discussion about exchanges through Interval International. Currently, exchanges are for periods of one week only. However, some time this spring, members will be able to do 3 or 4 night exchanges as well.

As already posted, there are no set lengths of stay for a DVC resort. You may stay for 1 night or 2 nights or 3 nights or as many as you have points to reserve - subject to availability and the home/non-home resort booking rules.
