Does anyone know a good site to book a Universal Vacation through? Is the main Universal sight good? I mean price wise and all.

you booked the components yourself. If you book thru Universal Vacations you will be paying rack rate for your trip.


Book individually


1) your accomodations
know what discounts you qualify for. AAA, Entertainment rate, Fan Club, Annual Pass Holder rate. Ask if there are any specials currently available. If you are a florida resident ask if that rate is available.

2) tickets Decide what kind of ticket will best suit your needs. Are you planning on going to Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, Wet n' Wild, Sea world. If this is the case I would suggest a 14 multi pass ticket. If you are only going to Universal and Islands of Adventure. You must consider the number of days you will be staying and how many days you will be visiting the parks. The first choice are one day tickets. Then there is the 2 day 2 park tickets. Then there is buy a two day ticket get a third free. There is also a five day pass. There are length of stay passes. And of course the Annual Power Pass(some blackout days apply and no discounts). Then there is the Annual Preferred Pass which comes with hotel and food discounts.


3) car rental Next is your car rental. Rates vary greatly as well as the conditions of rental. Some car rental companies let you rent with only using a debit card while others insist on credit cards to secure rental. There is also the amount of the securement. Some will allow as little as cost of rental plus 25 percent for a rental, while others require as much as a 500 securement for a rental.


4) airfare (if necessary) Most airlines do not post there rates more than 9 to 12 months inadvance. As this is one of the most important elements of your trip it will be necessary for you to track past rates of several airlines to determine the best rate.



I know this sound like alot to absorb. However, with the help of your fellow disers posts you will find these tasks alot easier. By checking the transportation post you can find out what rates on airfare and car rentals what kind of rates to find. By checking the dates and rates for loews hotels you have a better idea of the rates available to you for the on site hotels. And by checking the universal forums you can find out about meal discounts and ticket discounts.


I am sure this is not what you were necessarily asking. But you can save alot of money by doing everything yourself. And the money you save might allow you to extend your vacation should you choose.
