Booking online vs. calling Disney for a resort reservation? Does it help to call?

I am trying my best to secure a value resort for 3 days at the beginning of our LAST MIN. Nov trip that I booked this week. We are DVC members but we need a room for 3 days for our older two kids that have decided to join us for part of the trip. I keep seeing ONE of the three days online but not the other. If I call do the cast members see more available that it's showing online?? TIA :)

It can't hurt to call. I had an experience a few months back where I called to try to add a night to the beginning of our upcoming November stay, which we had booked as a bounceback. I was hoping to get the bounceback rate. The CM said there was no availability for that night. Okay, I understood that there may not have been availability at the bounceback rate, but I said that I could see availability for that night via their website. I asked if she could just go ahead and book that night for me as a separate reservation. She still said she was not seeing any availability. So I hung up and booked it online myself via the Disney website.

If you can't find availability thru the Disney website, have you checked Orbitz?

Oh wow.....okay. I will call and keep checking online.
