The deadline to book the dining package is July 03, which falls on a Sunday. Travel agents are not open today cause of Canada's Day. Which only leaves Saturday and Sunday. Saturday I won't be in town, so I won't be able to book with a travel agent. Sunday travel agents are closed. Do you think its better to book online or call directly to disney and book. Would there be a differnce? Any unput would be greatly appreciated Does Disney deadlines usually fall on the weekend like this? I just find it strange!

I prefer to call and talk to someone, rather than trying online. I like using web sites for many things, but the disney site sometimes seems to have problems and I would just rather talk to someone.
When you make your reservation a deposit of 200.00 will be due. You can give them a credit card on the phone, or pay it within two weeks with a check or credit card. the balance will be due 45 days before you leave, which may give you a couple of days.

My agent is working today and she will take excellent care of you - just e-mail her your stuff and she will get back to you ASAP..better than sitting on with DIsney yourself. Her e-mail is travelmom@verizon.net -- she comes very highly recommended to me and has been excellent. I don't normally do referrals but give her a shot.

I always call, now. Booking online is via a travel company and not directly with Disney. Disney by phone requires one nights payment to book the trip. The website requires payment in full. The web site also requires cancellation much farther out that Disney by phone.

I also didn't know that booking online gives you less time to cancel. I was going to book online last trip but we wanted a 10 night stay and it wouldn't allow it- so I called. This trip I booked completely online but they already have it on their "records" (even though I only booked it night before last)- they had it on their records when I called earlier to get MNSSHP tickets.

When you book a package (either online or via phone) it is booked with WDTC (Walt Disney Travel Company) - a wholly owned subsidiary of Disney.
If you book online, $200 is due immediately, and the remainder is due 45 days before the trip starts.
If you book via phone, you have 14 days to pay the $200 deposit (as long as you are booking at least 45 days out), and the remainder is due 45 days before the trip starts.

Thanks for all your help guys, I really apperciate it. When someone said you had to pay in full, I was suprised I am glad its only $200 deposit first. Thanks again!

Booking packages is through Walt Disney Travel Company, and there is always a $200 deposit needed within 14 days, whether you book on the phone or online, with the balance due 45 days from arrival. Unless you are within 45 days of travel when you book, then the payment is due in full right away.
Booking a room-only is through CRO (Disney), and there is a one-night's deposit due within 14 days when you book on the phone unless you are within 30 days, then the one-night's deposit is due right away. Online, the one-night's deposit is due right away. The balance is always due upon arrival.
