Booking on Disney Website or while on board

Do they normally let u cancel and rebook on the ship with out giving over more money and just transfer the money from the old booking ?

They can transfer the money to a new reservation over the phone (I've done this multiple times). I don't see why they couldn't onboard, as well.

They never have when I've rebooked onboard. But it's never been an issue for me as I only put down the deposit when making my reservation and for onboard booking, I just put enough money for the deposit on a gift card. No big deal.
