booking on borrowed points-oops,rented

it looks as if i'll need to rent-not borrow-a few points from a member.my question is will ms let me book past my points allotment or d i need to arrange my point rental prior to booking?

MS will not make a reservation unless you actually have the points in your account.

You will have to rent the additional points you need and get them into your account before you call to make the reservation that will use the additional points.
